Hello Everybody,
There is a good chance I will be gone for all of June and July. I am looking for someone that would want to live in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago for that time and pay $450 (or best offer) per month. Can't smoke in the place and no pets. You'd also need to be able to at least tolerate my roomie Isaac (and he tolerate you). I'll be leaving May 11 and returning August 17, so the last 2 weeks of May and the first week of August would be included for free.
If anyone is interested, email me at: fiddlerpig at yahoo dot com
Thanks,
-Paul

Haircut
I just buzzed my hair. My roommate Isaac helped. We discussed the reasons I wanted to buzz my hair.
1. I was bored (never a good thing)
2. Easy to keep short hair looking presentable.
3. Isaac bet me I wouldn't do it.
4. Quick and easy weight loss (it's a joke people).
5. Everybody's doing it.
6. I had my hair buzzed as a kid and I missed the good ol' days.
7. I would save the $13 that Great Clips would charge.
8. I trimmed my beard and I felt that it made my head lopsided.
9. I spent $15 on new clippers.
10. It will make people laugh (not because it looks bad).
11. I like people with short hair.
Pictures to follow. We documented the process.

Update - 3/17/08
And now I'm sick. Flu. Or a cold, who knows. This weekend I played two concerts in two different states choking back the coughing fits (well, I was given some awesome cough drops that work very well). I haven't really even been able to eat much for the past few days, so my weight is skewed down to 203.
I should start feeling better just in time to go home to KC for Easter weekend. Family, fun, and lots of food. I am really looking forward to the trip. Here's to hoping for portion control.
Happy St. Patty's Day!

Update - 3-6-08
Hello,
I have been bad. I haven't been updating and I haven't been eating right. I did buy a jump rope, and hung it on my doorknob.
I often use this pair of excuses:
I have a sporadic busy schedule that throws off my daily routine
and
I don't have enough money to live as healthy as I'd like.
Both are a bunch of baloney. I am poor and I do have an irregular schedule, but if I do really value my health, I should make it a priority.
Today is an example of the baloney. I had the entire day off and I didn't use my jump rope at all. I could have walked to the store, but instead I drove. At the store, I could have made a healthy purchase instead of the frozen pizza that I chose. The pizza was on special, but it still wasn't the cheapest pizza they had. I can tell when I am actually poor because I count my pennies to buy a loaf of bread. That wasn't today.
I am rambling, but I think my point is clear. My excuses are just excuses. They are lies to myself, my friends, my family and anyone who has read my blog.
This is just a statement of what I have observed. I am not setting new goals nor making new commitments here and now. I know that I want to be healthier. I just need to do it.

Daily Update - 2/21/08
Official Weight: 214
Target Weight: 179
I didn't get around to posting meals or weights the last couple of days. I don't believe that it's me loosing focus. Not yet.
Check my previous entry to see my new bag o' food. I think if I have a complete breakfast, I can eat the different parts of my food bag through the day, and come home and make a hot meal for dinner.
I want to buy a jump rope. I liked jump rope in elementary school. It isn't hard to do, but it is one of the most calorie burning exercises out there. I also recently discovered that I burn 200+ calories in a 2.5 hour rehearsal.
And now for something completely different: My goal for the next week is to submit my application for Library School! I have contacted my references, and I am ready to go ahead.
Lunch & Snacks
I made 10 bundles to take to work and on the road. I used Google Docs to make a nifty spreadsheet to share with the world. This plus my 64 oz water jug, and I'm ready to go.
